Uptown Community Aspiration: A thriving, self-sufficient community, that values its residents, history, arts, and culture, with clean green spaces and increased homeownership among long term residents.
How We Mobilize

This is what collective power looks like.
In the heart of Uptown South Baton Rouge, the historic Lincoln Theater stands as a symbol of what’s possible when communities lead and visions are honored. This event, hosted by Presence Fest, was a glimpse into what the Lincoln will soon become: a space that celebrates culture, history, and the future the residents are building. We’re not here to create the work, we’re here to support it. This is about showing up and standing beside folks doing the work. We’re helping turn long-held aspirations into a living, breathing reality.
Uptown is rising, and it's rising together!

Rooted in Uptown
What does transformation look like when it's rooted in Collective action?
Pastor Riley, of First Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church, shares how the Uptown Community Garden took root, the impact of MetroMorphosis, and his hope for what’s still to come. The garden is part of a larger collective action effort to see our communities thrive. It’s more than just a plot of land, it’s an example of what happens when people come together with a shared aspiration and commitment to transforming urban communities.
