On Monday, February 18th nearly 70 African American males gathered across five barbershops in the Baton Rouge area to talk about what is necessary to engage in “Building The Village”. The Urban Congress on African American Males in Baton Rouge hosted the February edition of the popular Barbershop Talk series at Webb’s barbershop, Klipper Headz barbershop, Phantasy Styles barbershop, Southern University barbershop and Kingdom Kutz barbershop. Attendees discussed topics ranging from graduation rates of Black boys in Baton Rouge to building general wealth and expanding the definition of what wealth means. This month’s edition was another successful series packed with substantive dialogue in comfortable settings.
