The month of September was full of engagements and community at MetroMorphosis. We participated in strategies that:

  • Increased voter registration
  • Provided information and resources to Black businesses in our community 
  • Continued our conversation on intergenerational co-leadership

TEAM MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENT

Harvard Resident joins MetroMorphosis team to bolster community partnerships and work to support Black boys and men. Judy Touzin, Harvard Leader in Residence, has joined the organization to strengthen the team’s ability to drive change through collective action.

Judy is in her third year of the EdLD Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and will serve with MetroMorphosis through April 2023.

MOMENTS in the MOVEMENT

MetroMorphosis partnered with the Power Coalition and other organizations to register students to vote at over 15 schools across Baton Rouge.
MetroMorphosis Team Members attended the Gardere job fair and spoke with 20+ registered voters and registered an additional 6 more.
The 8th cohort of ULDI met this month to discuss housing and had a special presentation from  Alfredo Cruz and were provided tools to strengthen their practice of leadership.
MetroMorphosis Team Members presented to 25+ small businesses at the Live Royally Pre Season Business Training Camp  and shared the services offered through the LaunchBR container.
The City-Parish and MOVEBR Small Business Outreach Team hosted a small business owners networking event to facilitate connections among firms of all sizes, private construction industry leaders and selected small businesses.

October is full of important dates to remember surrounding voting and we will be hosting engagements to support you in being an informed voter.
